Verdict

Mark Johnston bids to win this race for the fourth time in succession with ZA'LAN. The latter found only his better fancied stablemate Three Bards too good on his debut over a mile at Southwell and, though his breeding doesn't guarantee he'll stay, his strong finish on the Fibresand earlier this month suggests it will not be a problem. Ctappers gets the trip well as he proved when runner-up at Kempton last time and Dalmo makes more appeal than Noosa Bay as they both step up in distance, but Foster's Road and Rapid Heat Lad look pretty exposed now and are harder to fancy.
