In depth

Verdict

After making a winning start over fences at Wincanton, Drumcliff was very impressive in a handicap at Ascot but dropping back to 2m on slightly quicker going may not be ideal and he does have a double penalty. TREE OF LIBERTY came up against a smart novice at Newbury after winning easily here on his fencing bow. He’s going to be a much better chaser than hurdler and could outpace these. Copain De Classe started favourite on his chasing debut at Ascot and ran well for third behind the useful Benatar but is another who would probably have preferred another half-mile.
