Verdict

A Great View did well over hurdles and had been racing against stiff opposition over fences before landing a novices' chase at Down Royal so he should have no problems making further progress. Catalaunian Fields had the pace to score over the minimum at Tramore before failing to overhaul Laid Back Luke over this trip at Fairyhouse and doesn't look badly treated while General Principle lost nothing in defeat behind Bachasson in what looked a strong beginners' event at Gowran. Velocity Boy had been threatening to win for some time before making all for an impressive victory over 2m6f at Punchestown and will take some catching but EDWULF is taken to carry his big weight to another victory. Joseph O'Brien's charge had beaten Bachasson at Punchestown before falling in a Grade 2 at Navan and looks a smart chaser in the making.
