In depth

Verdict

Emotionless looks short enough in the ante-post betting on his first start since January. He was placed in a Group 3 at Meydan on that occasion and is still preferred to the other Godolphn runner Emirates Flyer. First Sitting beat Autocratic with Spark Plug further behind when landing a Listed race at Goodwood in May but has to be forgiven a poor effort in France last time and a chance is taken on DESERT ENCOUNTER. Placed in the Brigadier Gerard at Sandown in between modest efforts in Group 1 contests, this represents his easiest opportunity of the year so far and David Simcock’s charge gets the vote. Fajjaj beat little in a novices' race last time and will find this much tougher.
