In depth

Verdict

Hasty Retreat is our selection in the finale with Sand Maiden and Rossini¿s Dancer likely to give him plenty to think about. Ed Dunlop's horses are worth more than a cursory glance when introduced into handicaps and the handler looks to have unearthed a fair opportunity here. Ignoring his run at Windsor where he suffered interference, the case for the defence can be pleaded on the basis of a solid run at Wolverhampton behind My Mate Max. Sand Maiden is exactly that. The headgear is persisted with this afternoon and the yard is at least in form. Rossini's Dancer is nothing special although that didn¿t stop punters wading in at Beverley in April. Castlebury showed improved form at Warwick for switching to better going and can have obvious claims if continuing on the upward curve. Casino Night is always dangerous if gifted the benefit of a soft lead. Aga Khan castoff Kargan put up a career best on debut for John Wainwright. Unfortunately that doesn't say a lot for what happened previously. Mrs Summersby is sure to be popular as an inmate from the Hughie Morrison stable. Willyn has gone well for Kelly Harrison in the past. Hasty Retreat gets the nod.
