Newcastle isn't a course immediately associated with Jeremy Noseda as a starting point for newcomers, but the Newmarket-based trainer had several options for 2011 Derby entry ELYSIAN HEIGHTS, so it's taken as a most positive move to introduce this son of Galileo here today. A half-brother to the high-class miler, Majors Cast, this fellow has a very likeable pedigree and won't need to be anything out of the ordinary to make an impact. Maverik showed improvement in a valuable maiden at York's John Smith's meeting and, although the form has subsequently taken a couple of knocks, he is respected at this level. Ibsaar also comes into the reckoning as one who is sure to improve with racing and, given that he travelled smoothly before tiring on debut at Chester at the start of this month; he may be better suited by the more straightforward course layout at Gosforth Park. Pink Diva is the most interesting of the fillies and is another debutante worth bearing in mind for future reference.
