Verdict

Alice Alleyne merits respect given her profile and connections but STRICTLY DANCING makes more appeal and is preferred to Dylanesque. The selection was beaten from a 2lb lower mark on her handicap debut at Kempton but there are reasons for believing that she can find sufficient improvement back on turf to take this stronger race. She was outpaced by a progressive filly on that occasion but better is expected now that she's stepped back up in trip and her profile is generally progressive. Alice Alleyne was well supported ahead of her scheduled reappearance but refused to enter the stalls at Lingfield; she was a long way behind Miss Zooter on her first run of the season but did show a little more at Warwick last time but has something to prove at this level. Dylanesque narrowly got the better of Alice Alleyne in a maiden last year and looks primed to run a big race following a highly encouraging return to action at Sandown behind a horse that has since run well in defeat; she's 5lbs higher but it will be surprising if she's not involved. Maid In Heaven is progressing rapidly but may need to be Group class to land this contest from a mark of 92 and of more appeal at the likely prices are Chica Whopa and Sweet Clementine who could slip under the radar. The former impressed on debut for the Hannon yard and looks feasibly treated whilst the latter has run respectably from this mark this season and may benefit from a strong pace over a shorter trip but preference is for Strictly Dancing.
