Verdict

AMEER can land this competitive opener at the main expense of Green Moon and Alrasm. The selection disappointed in a Group 2 in Italy earlier in the month but the heavy ground was against him that day and he had previously gone close in a competitive affair here. He should be spot-on for this and he looks the one to beat. Green Moon does have the benefit of a recent run and he has won his last two races, but he is upped in grade today and he will need to find improvement to make his mark in this company. Red Badge had no luck in the Esher Cup at Sandown last month when he got squeezed for room and he wasn't given a hard race. Alrasm is upped in grade but he did win a competitive handicap at Chester in good style last time and he should not be dismissed lightly. A quality start to the day and the vote is given to Ameer.
