In depth

Verdict

We're going to give SIR MANGAN a final chance in this, even though he appeared to take a backward step when beaten 17 lengths at Newcastle last time. The winner that day is probably useful, however, and today's heavy ground should play to the strengths of Donald McCain's charge. Carrybridge, another winning pointer, wasn't beaten far on her debut under Rules in a bumper here in November and could threaten while the going will hold no fears for winning chaser Riskier. Dare To Endeavour has hinted at ability but his future may lie in handicaps.
