In depth

Verdict

So Cloudy has leading claims in this moderate mares' only contest, with Verstone and Assuring Ways seen as her main rivals. Although set to give weight away all round here, So Cloudy just needs to reproduce her past efforts this season to visit the winner's enclosure for the second time this season. Donald McCain's charge was successful on good ground at Hexham in May, and since then has done well to be placed on each of her three subsequent starts on faster going. Any rain that falls to take the sting out of the ground will significantly improve her chances, but in any case she is the one to beat. Verstone is only plating class on the evidence so far, but can still make a bid for the frame along with Irish raider Assuring Ways who would be interesting if backed in the ring. Her form, like the remainder, is nothing out of the ordinary though, and if So Cloudy does not oblige, connections will surely be very disappointed.
