Verdict

Pairumani Pat and Jafaru join Black Falcon on the shortlist and preference is for Jafaru. Gerard Butler's horses are in fair form and Jafaru, whilst being no stable star, looks sure to appreciate the drop in class today. On his first jaunt into selling company, he is well-treated at these weights and his slow plodding style may be enough for success. John Harris does well in sellers and claimers so Black Falcon needs respect; however top-weight makes life tough and he has been well-held recently. A One is getting on a bit and will try gamely from the front, whilst Converti and Missie Baileys are course and distance winners, often a good place to start when looking for the winner. Tamrai Dancer tries the blinkers for an in-form team, whilst Defectivedetective makes his flat debut at a very lowly level. At a price Soldiers Quest may be one to keep an eye on in the betting, but in a weak race we will return to Jafaru for the selection.
