In depth

Verdict

Paparazzi got up close to home to land a nursery over seven furlongs here two weeks ago and has to be respected off just a 3lb higher mark today but the drop in trip is not certain to suit and preference is for I'm Aimee, who gets the verdict ahead of Lowestoft Playboy. The last mentioned did not settle when tried over a mile at Yarmouth and performed better when able to bowl along in front dropped back to five furlongs last time. His chance will depend upon whether Tony Culhane can get the son of Pivotal to settle today. Chief Dipper and Small Stakes have both had the three runs necessary for a handicap mark and are interesting on their debuts in this grade, while Beau Marche has been given a chance by the handicapper who has dropped him 5lbs since his most recent outing. David Barron's Rancho Cucamonga was dropped to selling company when obliging at Southwell last time and cannot be discounted back in a nursery having been raised just 1lb since but the vote goes to I'm Aimee. The David Evans-trained filly is well handicapped on the pick of her turf form, including over this trip, and comes here fresher than most.
