    Verdict

The King and I, Vallemeldee and Noble Plum are the principals here with The King and I taken to come out on top. Vallemeldee is only four pounds higher than when coming out on top over the course and distance and he can go close. The lightly raced Noble Plum was also a course and distance winner last time, and he was eased in the closing stages so was value for further than his narrow success. His trainer Sir Mark Prescott is a master at placing his animals and he is only grudgingly overlooked. The King and I is much more exposed than Noble Plum but improved markedly for being stepped up in trip last time. He won with some authority and The King and I can hit the right note here.
