Joe Cole is hoping for a return to either Chelsea or West Ham in order to help build his fitness up after returning from America.

The 35-year-old has been playing in America with the Tampa Bay Rowdies and was nominated as one of the North American Soccer League (NASL) MVPs but did not win the main award.

Cole is back in England during the off-season and is on the lookout for some help from his former clubs to get his fitness up.

"I'm going to start training this week, maybe to get back to West Ham or Chelsea for a bit of training and just see how the bodies feels," he told Soccer AM.

"They do things very differently out there but I enjoyed it. The family settled well, especially living just an hour and a half from Disney - I loved that!

"The people there were so nice - we'd get beaten at home and I'd be raging coming off the pitch. But people were so positive, saying how good I'd played, when I hadn't. It's a different mind set - I missed getting booed off now and again!"
