Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle allowed to leave in January

Dwight Gayle can leave Crystal Palace but only on a permanent deal, according to Sky sources.

Queens Park Rangers are understood to head the list of the 25-year-old's suitors with Norwich City also linked with the striker.

Palace are confident of making a profit on the player they signed from Peterborough for £6m in the summer of 2013.

Gayle has scored four goals this season but has only featured in seven Premier League games. He hasn't played in the first team since the 1-1 draw at Everton on December 7.

Palace boss Alan Pardew said last weekend that it was unlikely any of his first-choice players would leave in the transfer window, although he admitted some may have to go.

"There haven't really been too many rumours about our players going out and I hope it stays like that because sometimes it is fuelled by a player's agent," said the former Newcastle boss.
