Fleetwood have signed Chelsea forward Alex Kiwomya on a one-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old, who has been capped at various age groups by England, will be available to face Doncaster in Sky Bet League 1 on Saturday.

Kiwomya, son of former professional footballer Andy and nephew of Chris, played five games on loan at Barnsley last season.

Cod Army manager Steven Pressley said on the club's website: "We are going into a really busy schedule of games and we are a bit short in terms of numbers in certain positions.

"He is a player with high potential and he fits the type of profile that we are looking for. We have to bring players in that are different to what we already have and he is certainly different.

"He gives us a different dimension to our game. It is good that Alex has had experience in League 1 so he understands the environment he is coming into. We are delighted to have him on board."
