Chris Eagles has signed a new short-term contract with Sky Bet League Two Accrington, keeping him at the club until January.
The 30-year-old midfielder arrived at Stanley during the summer and had featured in five matches before suffering a calf tear.
He has now agreed a new contract, and assistant manager Jimmy Bell told the official website: "Chris brings with him a wealth of experience having played at the top level.
"He has settled in really well, he is an energetic player and, as yet, we haven't had a fully match-fit Chris Eagles but we are getting there.
"He has strengthened the squad and when you look at our bench and have players with the calibre of Chris Eagles on it, like on Saturday, it can only be beneficial for the team."
Eagles started his career at Watford before enjoying spells with Manchester United, Burnley, Bolton, Charlton, Blackpool and Bury.
