Brentford have announced the signing of Ollie Watkins from Exeter for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old forward has signed a four-year contract with the Sky Bet Championship club, with the transfer fee being a record received by Exeter.

Watkins came through the Grecians' academy and scored 21 goals in 68 league appearances for the first team.

Watkins told his old club's website: "Players always want to test themselves at the highest level they can. That is the aim.

"I want to play at the highest level I can for as long as I can and Brentford have given me that opportunity and I am very grateful to them for that."
