Stoke City and Manchester City remain in talks over a deal for midfielder Fabian Delph.
Sky sources have indicated Stoke want to pay nearer £10m for the player but City are holding out for nearer £13m.
Stoke boss Mark Hughes has confirmed his interest in signing the 27-year-old earlier this month.
Delph moved to the Etihad from Aston Villa for £8m on a five-year contract in July 2015 but has struggled to secure a regular place in the side, starting just five matches last season in Pep Guardiola's first season in charge.
The arrival of Delph, who has nine England caps, would further strengthen Stoke's midfield following the signing of Darren Fletcher on a free transfer from West Bromwich Albion.
Stoke are also close to signing Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, 22, on a season-long loan.
The highly-rated France international underwent a medical on Monday and the deal is expected to be finalised later this week, once he agrees to terms on a contract extension with Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Sky sources understand Irish international midfielder Glenn Whelan is close to completing a £1.5m move from Stoke to Aston Villa.
The 33-year-old has made 291 appearances for the Potters since joining from Sheffield Wednesday for £500,000 in 2008.
