Arsenal have made a breakthrough in contract talks with Mesut Ozil and are increasingly confident of keeping the Germany international, according to The Sun.
The Sun report that a new £280,000-a-week deal could be struck in the coming weeks. The 28-year-old, who reportedly initially wanted £350,000-a-week, sees his current deal run out next year.
Elsewhere, the Independent report that Arsenal are set to battle bitter rivals Tottenham for the signature of talented Manchester City youngster Jadon Sancho, who wants more first-team action. The 17-year-old helped England reach the final of the European Under-17 Championships earlier this summer.
