Livorno striker Paulinho - who has been linked with Southampton - is keen on a Premier League move, claims his agent.

Brazil-born Paulinho has been with Serie A club Livorno since 2005, and consequently holds an Italian passport.

The 28-year-old hit 15 league goals last season but could not prevent the Tuscan outfit finishing bottom of the table.

Sampdoria are also interested in acquring his services this summer, but his agent Andrea Bagnoli has told Primocanale that his client prefers the idea of playing in the Premier League.

"Paulinho has expressed a desire to go to play in England and we are evaluating some opportunities," said Bagnoli. "We are at the beginning of the market and it is still early to say where he will play."

Stoke were linked with Paulinho earlier in the transfer window, when Livorno president Aldo Spinelli claimed the Potters had expressed an interest, while Crystal Palace and QPR are also reportedly tracking him.
