Dundee have signed Aston Villa youngster Riccardo Calder on a four-month loan deal.
Manager Paul Hartley stated after the 1-1 draw with Inverness CT at the weekend that he was looking to add a wide player to his squad.
The 19-year-old left-sided midfielder has been a regular for the Villa U21 team and although he featured for the first team in pre-season he has yet to make a competitive first-team appearance.
Hartley said: "We are delighted to have Riccardo join. He is highly rated and has great potential."
Hartley is also looking to add a striker to his squad following the departure of Luka Tankulic last week; the former Wolfsburg striker made 32 appearances for the Dark Blues, scoring three times.
