Swede Oskar Henningsson became the first man to come through all three stages of Q-School and win the Final after a closing 69 at PGA Golf de Catalunya.
The 23-year-old Henningsson - who led from the first round, only briefly being knocked off the top of the leaderboard on Sunday night - eventually won by four shots from Australia's Wade Ormsby and Spain's Carlos Del Moral.
The victory earned him nearly 19,000 Euros but more importantly a coveted European Tour card, giving him the right to compete against the superstars of world golf next season.
"To be the first guy to win coming through all three stages is a great
achievement and it will give me a lot of confidence going into the new season," said Henningsson.
"It's been my goal for the season to get on tour and I feel well prepared to go out on the main circuit and make an impression."
Rising stars
Meanwhile, rising English stars Danny Willett and Chris Wood both finished in the top-five to seal one of the 32 tour cards for next season
Yorkshire rookie Willett, the former world amateur number one, signed off with a two-under 70 to claim the fourth card.
"It feels good, very good," said Willett, who underlined his potential earlier this year when he shared 10th place as an amateur in the Spanish Open.
"It's been a bit scrappy over the past two days but I've got myself a European Tour card, which is what I came here for."
Willett finished just ahead of countryman Wood who ended a stellar season, in which he finished fifth as an amateur in the Open at Birkdale, on a high.
"I've worked really hard for this so I feel like I deserve everything I've achieved, but this does cap a pretty amazing year for me," said the 20-year-old from Bristol.
Former Ryder Cup players Joakim Haeggman and Andrew Coltart will also both return to the main tour in 2009 after qualifying comfortably.
