Jockey Club Racecourses has announced the promotion of Phil White to the role of its London Regional Director with responsibility for the running of Epsom Downs, Kempton Park and Sandown Park racecourses.

White has been General Manager at Sandown Park Racecourse since April 2015 and for three years prior to that was General Manager at Kempton. He has worked for The Jockey Club since 2002 and has been promoted through a range of roles at all three courses within its busy London region.

White will be based at Sandown Park, running the course day-to-day and overseeing the activities of a regional management team that includes Simon Durrant as General Manager of Epsom Downs Racecourse and Steve Parlett as General Manager at Kempton Park Racecourse.

He also joins the Board of Jockey Club Racecourses and will now report directly into Paul Fisher, Group Managing Director of Jockey Club Racecourses. White succeeds Rupert Trevelyan with immediate effect, who is standing down later this month.

Paul Fisher, Group Managing Director of Jockey Club Racecourses, said: "Phil is a great asset for The Jockey Club with an excellent track record of success throughout his time in the London region to date.

White commented: "The chance to lead such a talented team in our London region is a fantastic opportunity and makes me tremendously proud. We are lucky to welcome many of the world's finest racehorses, jockeys and trainers to compete on the Flat and over the Jumps at our three racecourses and we will be working hard to provide them and our hundreds of thousands of customers with the best possible experience in the years ahead.

"I'd like to thank Rupert Trevelyan for his leadership over the last several years. The team and I will look to build on the excellent platform he leaves us with."
