Connections of Clem Fandango are in no rush to map out a plan with their talented juvenile.

Although the Firth of Clyde Stakes at Ayr in September remains the long-term target for the Keith Dalgleish-trained two-year-old, connections are keen to get another race into her before then.

Having finished third behind Lady Aurelia in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot, the daughter of Elzaam filled the same position on her most recent start in the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury.

Tim Palin, spokesman for owners Middleham Park Racing, said: "I think she was beaten by two better race horses at the weights on the day at Newbury.

"The winner looked a serious racehorse and the second has bounced back to form with blinkers on having been freshened up.

"I think the race we've got in mind for her is the Firth of Clyde at Ayr's Western Meeting, but she will probably have a run somewhere in between.

"She is in the Lowther (at York), but it depends what stands their ground. She would probably be a more likely place contender rather than a win contender in that.

"There is also the St Hugh's Stakes at Newbury and the Roses Stakes at York. They are probably more for her. We will just have a bob and weave with her and play it late with regards to her next target."
