James Fanshawe is considering Group Two options at home and abroad for Northumberland Plate hero Higher Power.

Although the five-year-old holds an entry in next month's Qatar Goodwood Cup, the Newmarket handler has warned he is likely to bypass that in favour of an outing in either the Lonsdale Cup at York or the Prix Kergorlay at Deauville.

Having finished second on his first two starts this season, including behind subsequent Gold Cup winner Big Orange on his penultimate outing, the son of Rip Van Winkle gained the biggest win of his career when prevailing in the Newcastle feature earlier this month.

Fanshawe said: "Higher Power has taken his last race well, but we will wait for softer ground with him now. He is in the Goodwood Cup, but I imagine he will go for something like the Lonsdale or the Prix Kergorlay in France."

A trip to York for a tilt at the Betfred Ebor could be on the cards for Lord George on the back of his impressive run in fourth behind Higher Power at Gosforth Park.

Fanshawe added: "Lord George ran a very good race. I'm not sure where he will go, but he will have an Ebor entry.
