Hugo Palmer is tempted to skip the Betfred Hungerford Stakes at Newbury on Saturday with Gifted Master and keep him to six furlongs.
The four-year-old returned to winning ways at Doncaster earlier in the month but Palmer is eyeing up the Listed Hopeful Stakes at Newmarket next weekend as an alternative.
"It was very emotional when he won (at Doncaster) because he very nearly died when he came back from Dubai," the Newmarket handler told At The Races.
"He was in hospital for six weeks so to have him back and winning was great. He had terrible dehydration.
"He looked like a smart sprinter at Doncaster. I know there were only four of them but William (Buick) was delighted with the way he did it.
"There is the Hopeful Stakes a week on Saturday so we'll see what the Hungerford ends up like.
"It doesn't look a weak one to me so we might stick to six furlongs."
