Tabarrak claimed victory on what could be his final start in Britain with a tenacious success in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship Cup Stakes at Newbury.

Having been touched off in a Group Three at Salisbury last time out, the Richard Hannon-trained four-year-old gained compensation when obliging in the seven-furlong Listed contest.

Hitting the front inside the final furlong, the 5-1 shot held off the late rally of Accidental Agent by a neck with stablemate George William a further length back in third to complete a treble on the day for the Marlborough handler.

Tabarrak was claiming his first success since landing another Listed heat at Ascot back in May and Hannon is uncertain if the Acclamation gelding will now remain in Britain.

He said: "He has been a gorgeous horse all his life. He has always looked good and has barely run a bad race.

"He was unlucky not to win the Sovereign Stakes at Salisbury. He did it the hard way there and Jim Crowley gave him a super ride.

"He is a lovely horse to have about. He will either go to Dubai or stay here for next year.
