Trainer Clive Cox is confident Harry Angel will add to his Group One tally next season after rounding off a fine campaign by finishing fourth at Ascot on Saturday.

The Godolphin-owned three-year-old has struck twice at the highest level in 2017, dominating his rivals in both the July Cup at Newmarket and the Sprint Cup at Haydock.

He was unable to complete the hat-trick when a hot favourite for the Qipco British Champions Sprint, finishing only fourth, but Cox feels there is a lot to look forward to.

"I'm pleased to report he has come back from Ascot very well," said the Lambourn-based trainer.

"It was a bit of a slog and it was just a little bit too deep a test of his stamina on the day.

"We are all very much of the opinion we have got an exceptional horse for next year as he has proved he is a top-flight performer.

"There is no shadow of a doubt that he will win more Group One races.
