        Barton Won the novices event here last year and the Fighting Fifth this season but below par efforts since and the ground isn't sure to suit him; no easy task today.

        Best Mate (IRE) A surprise return to hurdling for this star novice chaser and if the bigger obstacles haven't blunted his speed is sure to go close in a fascinating race.

        Bounce Back (USA) Leading French hurdler who ran well on only start in Britain last time out; handles the ground and stable have already had a big winner this week.

        First Ballot (IRE) Decent flat handicapper has taken really well to hurdles but this looks a very tough task indeed and he is likely to come unstuck.

        Landing Light (IRE) High class novice who won the Tote Gold Trophy last time and has earned his place in this heady company; sure to command support and we'll learn a great deal more about his ability today.

        Mister Banjo (FR) Ran really well behind Lady Rebecca last time and must be respected but might be found for speed in the closing stages.

        Mr Cool Useful handicap hurdler but this looks too tough a task for him; others preferred.

        Teaatral Well weighted with Bounce Back on Fontwell running and should not want for stamina; definite place prospects at least.

        Hors La Loi III (FR) Came back to form with a good effort last time at Fontwell and goes well round this track; placed in Champion Hurdles in the past he cannot be lightly dismissed.
