Verdict

Softer going would have better suited both of these. Dan Skelton took last year’s renewal and Robin Waters, sixth in the Albert Bartlett in March, has already won between the flags but MINELLA AWARDS looked in need of the outing at Chepstow last month and ran accordingly. He jumped well enough and can put that experience to good use today.

Formwatch

Minella Awards (IRE) 6-5fav (11-0) Held up towards rear, headway approaching 5 out, left modest 3rd next, 3rd of 9, 28l behind Drinks Interval (11-3) at Chepstow 3m (3) gs in Oct.

Robin Waters (FR) 50-1 (11-5) Mid-division, headway 3 out, ridden to chase clear pair between last 2 to before last, kept on, not pace to challenge, 6th of 20, 10 1/2l behind Kilbricken Storm (11-5) at Cheltenham 3m (1) sft in Mar.
