Highly competitive fare with GRAMERCY a speculative suggestion. He's only had one run this term, delivering a stormer when fifth in the Wokingham Stakes at the Royal meeting, a fine effort without a 'prep' run. Not seen since, he presumably needs time between races and looks nicely weighted over this extra furlong. Eton Rifles was most impressive a week ago on his first run for David Elsworth since leaving Howard Johnson and a repeat effort would see him go close, although this track presents a different test to Goodwood. The admirable Smarty Socks continues to do his bit for the thriving O'Meara team and he'll enjoy the straight course, whilst Pastoral Player usually runs his race and can get involved. He does have something to find on the book with Eton Rifles though. Three-year-olds Bridgefield and King Of Jazz are not discounted in an open heat.
