Verdict

Bryan Smart has won the last three of these including with Move In Time a year ago but he hasn't been in anything like that kind of form subsequently and it will be a surprise if he follows up. Stablemate Free Zone hasn't been running well enough to consider while Monsieur Chevalier, runner-up in last year's Golden Jubilee and the top-rated here, hasn't been seen since landing a Goodwood Listed race over a year ago. Kingsgate Native has only won four times from 27 starts but invariably competes at the highest level. He showed himself in good shape when beaten a short-head by Swiss Spirit at Newbury though that was on fast ground and he appears happier on that sort of surface. Ponty Acclaim had her finest hour in the Cornwallis Stakes on this card last year but the one to be on is FACE THE PROBLEM. Jamie Osborne's charge was beaten narrowly by Doc Hay at Doncaster but that was over 6f and he bounced back to score over the minimum trip on heavy going at Haydock last week.
