Verdict

Hassle was no match for Maid In Rio over track and trip last time and is 3lb higher now. But the winner was well handicapped that day and Clive Cox's charge had won earlier here over 1m6f so has to go on the short-list. Moidore hasn't raced since staying on strongly to score on soft going at Newcastle in May but Sir Frank Morgan has been busy. The latter was well behind Hassle here two runs ago but only beaten a head at Ripon on Tuesday. DEDEBDEB appears to have more chance of staying this trip than Retirement Plan and could put his speed to good use if the pace isn't too strong. He's won twice over 1m6f and can pick off likely front-runner Earth Amber in the closing stages. Edge Of Sanity has his first run for Brian Ellison having been sold out of Jim Bolger's yard but surprise Goodwood winner Teak would have a great chance if getting a run from his reserve spot.
