Verdict

A small but select field goes to post for this conditions race and we will side with WEALD PARK to get the better of Rileyskeepingfaith and Alazeyab. Richard Hannon's colt probably needed the run at Newmarket earlier this month as he was returning from a break. He is therefore perhaps best judged on his close second behind Firth of Fifth in the Group 2 Superlative Stakes back in July. That is the best form on show here and he sets the standard for the rest. Rileyskeepingfaith won well at Salisbury last time but the form of his previous second behind Wingwalker has since taken a knock so he is hard to recommend with maximum confidence. Alazeyab won well at Newbury last month and he does have some big-race entries, but he looks the type who will do better over further in time and on that basis he is narrowly passed over today. Laahig and Aahaykid look to have a bit to find if they are to get competitive.
