Verdict

Early days in the nursery season and a degree of caution is advisable. Kemble sets the standard despite being outpaced at Royal Ascot but the concession of 17lb to TWICE AS LIKELY may prove too onerous a test. The latter showed marked improvement to land a Newbury novice auction stakes quite snugly and doesn't look harshly treated off an opening mark of 71. She may well improve further over a trip which looks to suit. Faldetta looks like turning into a consistent performer, although she probably does need to improve on her latest effort and Eton College, improving with every race and a resolute winner over this trip latest, rates a danger to all.
