Attraction bids to enhance her superstar status by landing this very prestigious Group 1 fillies event, with Red Bloom, Moon Dazzle and Secret Charm all expected to be in her slipstream again. Mark Johnston's filly has exceeded all expectations so far, taking her unbeaten record to seven when capturing the Irish 1000 Guineas last month. Royal Ascot racegoers had the privilege to witness a star in the making when she had the speed to win last year's Queen Mary Stakes, after which she added the Cherry Hinton at Newmarket to the list. Surely she would not have the stamina to land the 1000 Guineas they said, but she did before completing that famous double in Ireland, and she may be a freak, but her trainer would not mind a stable full of similar sorts. The daughter of Efisio simply galloped her rivals into submission on both occasions this term, and is ready to deal out the same punishment here. Secret Charm, fifth at both Newmarket and The Curragh, is expected to run a big race but looks held as does Majestic Desert, but if the cough that has afflicted some of the Middleham yard in any way affects Attraction, then Red Bloom, fourth at headquarters, may be the one to give her a scare. Sir Michael Stoute's main hope won the Fillies' Mile at Ascot last autumn and was only beaten two and a half lengths in the 1000 Guineas. However, she does not look as good as last year's heroine Russian Rhythm, and will do well to give Stoute a fifth Coronation. Of the rest, Newmarket maiden winner Moon Dazzle has been supplemented but it is asking a lot for her to make the leap into pattern-company, while Pat Haslam is optimistic that Kinnaird will run a big race. She and the rest have a job on though to stop the flying Attraction from adding to Mark Johnston's amazing record at Royal Ascot.
