Verdict

Although he's won six races including two Group 1's, Society Rock throws in the occasional moderate effort as he did with a mulish display in this a year ago. He became restless in the stalls and missed the break badly so it would be no great shock if the same happened again. Gordon Lord Byron was less than a length behind him in the Betfred at Haydock and can usually be relied on to do his best while it's interesting to see the Meydan specialist Krypton Factor here, though regular partner Kieren Fallon prefers Society Rock. The Australian mare SEA SIREN is a regular at Group 1 level at home and we've seen how the sprinters from down under operate over the past few years. She's not a prolific winner but is nearly always in the firing-line at the highest level so gets the vote with her allowance and Ryan Moore in the saddle.
