Royal Birth narrowly beat Robot Boy over track and trip earlier in the month with Stepper Point, Desert Law and Foxy Forever all further behind. The first two home are hard to separate in this and it was also a better effort from Stepper Point. Epsom Dash winner Caspian Prince and Medicean Man look high enough in the weights and it remains to be seen if Final Venture can repeat last week’s impressive effort at Pontefract when romping home by six lengths. Collateral form gives the latter the beating of recent York winner Alpha Delphini while Chelmsford winner Shamshon was behind Royal Birth at the same track last month. PRIMROSE VALLEY has proved best on the all-weather so far but has slipped down the weights and ran well at Newmarket last time on her first start since March. Ed Vaughan’s filly rates a sporting selection in a competitive sprint.
