    Verdict

Nightime, Speciosa, Race For The Stars and Flashy Wings are shortlisted in a competitive renewal of the Coronation Stakes and the vote is given to Speciosa. The selection won the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket in good style when several of today's field were behind her. She then ran well in the Oaks at Epsom until she was found wanting by a lack of stamina. She returns to her optimum trip today and although her best form is with more cut in the ground, she also has solid form on a fast surface and she looks the one to be on. Nightime won the Irish 1,000 Guineas in facile fashion, but that was on a much softer surface and her overall form on fast ground leaves her with a little to find. Race For The Stars was behind Nightime in Ireland but looks sure to appreciate this faster ground and may be capable of reversing the form. Flashy Wings has not been seen since disappointing in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket. She is another that will relish the faster ground but it remains to be seen whether she has trained-on. Nanina also disappointed at Newmarket but with her yard beginning to hit top form she could run well at a price. Silca's Sister has reportedly improved markedly following her run in the 1,000 Guineas, but the form of the Godolphin horses has to be a concern and for that reason she is hard to recommend. This should be a fascinating contest, but Speciosa who also has the plum draw, is our choice to regain the winning thread.
