    Verdict

Best Solution looks the pick of those who featured in the Derby. He was running on well that day although the track didn’t seem to suit and he could be in contention here. Permian will be having his sixth race of the season and the way he tailed off at Epsom was worrying, while the other Classic runners Salouen, Khalidi and Glencadam Glory look short of the required class. Royal Lodge winner Best Of Days was a high class two-year-old, though it may be asking too much of him to take this on his seasonal debut, so preference is for CRYSTAL OCEAN (NAP). His third in the Dante is solid form and having skipped the Derby, Sir Michael Stoute has been bringing him quietly along and he should be at his peak for this. The one-time Derby favourite Sir John Lavery flopped in the Lingfield Derby Trial but has to be respected as the sole Aidan O’Brien entrant while the consistent Raheen House is capable of making the frame.
