Verdict

We will opt for Sacred Nuts here ahead of Ariodante and John Forbes. The selection comes here on the back of a course win, which was gained over six furlongs. Much as the runner-up has since let the form down, the third has gone on to run well in a seven-furlong Listed race. Sacred Nuts could well also improve for the extra distance and, as he looks progressive, we will stick with him. John Forbes will certainly appreciate the step up to seven furlongs and could go well, Group Captain is well regarded and was only just beaten at Warwick last time, Southern Africa could be interesting stepped up two furlongs in distance and Ariodante is better than the bare form of his Lingfield win last time over a trip short of what should suit him best. He could well find the improvement required but, for today, we will stick with Sacred Nuts.
