Verdict

The figures leave ISLAND VISTA with plenty to do here but we're going to take a chance with her in preference to Crystal Cappella and Ronaldsay. The selection has clearly had her problems but she also has plenty of ability and connections will be keen to get some Black Type next to her name. She produced a sustained run to land her maiden over ten furlongs at Windsor at the beginning of August and can only have come on for that outing. The step up to twelve furlongs should also bring about further improvement and she has the class to make her mark at this level. One with proven form at this level is Ronaldsay and the fitting of a visor may help focus her mind on the job in hand. She's a tough and consistent performer who seems sure to give her all once again. Hobby, Sell Out and Elmaleeha are all of some interest but of more appeal is Crystal Capella despite concerns regarding her stamina. Sir Michael Stoute's filly has been brought along steadily since finishing second to the useful Scuffle in May in a maiden which featured some fair sorts. The concern is that she is from a family of milers but the way that she ground down the opposition over ten furlongs at Goodwood last time suggests that this trip will be within her compass and the decision of her connections to come here must be respected. That said, the selection is bred to be a stronger stayer and is also likely to be available at longer odds so there could be more value to be had in siding with Island Vista.
