Verdict

Wolftrap couldn't match the finishing speed of stablemate Verni at Newton Abbot nine days ago but finished ahead of the disappointing Arty Campbell and knows where the winning post is – he should make a bold bid to get back on track. The Tailgater looks high enough in the weights at present, however, and Clic Work looked hard work when beaten at Stratford. QUIETO SOL can confirm Southwell running with The Tailgater, despite worse terms, and go one better here as he may have won but for a slow jump at the last that day. Minstrel Royal should find a race this season and is preferred to Miss Estela and Towcester winner Followmybuttons, who steps up a grade.
