In depth

Verdict

The ground will suit CATHERINES VERSE who is taken to get the better of Vicario and Youluckyman. The selection will relish these conditions, and although she was a beaten favourite last time out, that was the second of two quick runs after a break of almost two years. She may have bounced that day and she looks worth another chance. Vicario, who acts on heavy ground, has been out of form for some time but has dropped 28lb in the weights. He ran his first race since May last time out, staying-on in the closing stages and he will appreciate the run. Youluckyman ran well last time out at Uttoxeter on heavy ground, and that was an improvement on some of his recent form so he has to be considered. Distance winner Boysterous last won back in November; that was on heavy ground and back on a testing surface he is sure to have his supporters. Catherines Verse should be spot-on for this though and with conditions very much in her favour she gets the vote.
