    Verdict

Unless Howard Johnson's Stravinsky colt Heureux proves to be out of the ordinary, this should go to Ludovico, who is preferred to Diablerette. The last mentioned ran green on her Doncaster debut and, with Mark Johnston's juveniles normally showing improvement for their first start, she has to be respected at a track where the trainer has a good record with his youngsters. Linda Perratt is not known for her success with two-year-olds first time out so Mandarin Rocket may be best watched, while the booking of Robert Winston for Ian Semple's Dulce Sueno takes the eye, although the daughter of Lahib may want a softer surface. Kasarami needs to improve on all known form and preference is for Ludovico, who stepped up on debut form when finding just Final Verse too good in a 16-runner maiden at Doncaster last time. A reproduction of that effort may suffice.
