Verdict

TURBO ISLAND has a penalty but the four-year-old still sets a strong standard and is nominated ahead of Quannapowitt. Jimmy Ewart's course and distance winner Turbo Island made a fine start to his racing career when he saw off Big Boots here back in February. The first two were an absolute mile clear of the remainder and seeing as Big Boots set a good standard, the form looks solid. Newcomer Mithian, an Elite Racing-owned son of Alflora could be anything and is respected accordingly, whilst Quannapowitt has three runs under his belt and he evidently handles soft conditions. However he was well-held behind a stablemate of the selection in Bishops Heir back in January and can be taken on as a result. Birnies Boy has been off for three months; he wasn't disgraced on his first run in a decent Haydock bumper and looks a live player. Once again a disappointingly small field, however it is Turbo Island who is take to win again.
