Princess Evelith ran a blinder when second in the Carlisle Bell 11 days ago and is fancied to build on that effort today. Shy Glance and Final Tune are expected to pose a few problems along the way. The last named quickly took the measure of Shiitake when they met here a fortnight ago and it will be a surprise if he cannot uphold form. However, he now has a career highest mark to contend with and has something to prove. Shy Glance finished just ahead of the selection in a similar event 11 days ago and should again make a bold bid. However, Allan Swinbank's runners appear to have turned a corner in the last few days, so the case for the top weight is now made more compelling. The gelding has numerous entries at the time of writing and it will have to be considered as a major pointer if this turns out to be his preferred option.
