      In depth

      Verdict

The three-year-old Derbyshire had three runs in soft-ground maidens last season and, though he showed little, there should be more to come this campaign. Saturday's Musselburgh winner Cara's Request has been declared a doubtful runner and that may have left the way open for ELLIES IMAGE, who hadn't won since 2011 when arriving here last month but had dropped to a very lowly mark as a consequence and had no trouble gaining the sixth victory of her career. She's been raised 6lb but Paul Hanagan is a positive booking and she's taken to go in again. Monel, who started favourite that day, was beaten around five lengths into third and looks held but Tortoise won so easily at Newcastle from today's rival Vosne Romance that even an 8lb rise shouldn't prevent a big effort.
