Verdict

Whatever Chicago Grey's fate in the previous race, Gordon Elliott should be on the mark here with RUSSIAN WAR. The eight-year-old has been put up 7lb for his win at Aintree nine days ago but idled once hitting the front that day and is clearly much improved this season. Cool Operator won easily over 2m1f at Carlisle in February and stay this longer trip while Bogside has proved himself to be a decent novice since the turn of the year and could be on a decent mark on his handicap debut. Attaglance has won at Market Rasen and Hexham this season but could find a couple of these too strong for him over this longer trip.
